UK digital music & TV rights company ONE MEDIA IP has posted its best year-end results to date, following a number of deals including a high-profile acquisition of the producer royalties to some of Take That’s biggest early hits. Revenues rose to £4 million (up from £3.5 million last year) with profits up by a third to £740,000. The AIM-listed company has also been rewarded by strategic investments across catalogues that include music from Mungo Jerry through to Mozart, as older listeners adopt music streaming in their millions. One Media announces that it will launch a new Men & Motors TV channel to be hosted by Shane Lynch, best known as a member of Boyzone, and Torie Campbell, best known for fronting ‘One Second in F1 Racing’. The channel, which will deliver an additional income stream for One Media from advertising revenue (ad-funded) and sponsorship, will air the best shows from its comprehensive archive of 3,400 automotive videos in a new on-demand format to engage the next generation of car enthusiasts. The channel will go live at 7pm (GMT) on 1 February 2021. One Media is pleased to announce that it has acquired the licensor’s share of the royalties to the 21 Vision catalogue of rights (‘the Catalogue’), which contains over 2,000 recordings from some of the all-time music greats from over the last seven decades. Since 2009, the 21 Vision catalogue has been licensed to One Media on a royalty-sharing basis. As part of the deal, One Media has acquired the licensor’s royalty share of the catalogue on an in perpetuity basis, which allows the Company to continue to exploit the catalogue via all of its digital mediums and collect all revenues associated with the licence. The Catalogue includes rare music concerts and live recordings performed by over 70 artists who, since the digital era began, have a renewed popularity as they are rediscovered by growing global audiences. One Media is delighted to announce that it has acquired the producer royalties of a selection of tracks by one of the most renowned pop groups in the United Kingdom, Take That, from Ian Levine, British songwriter, producer and DJ. Levine, who first found fame as a Northern Soul DJ in the 1970s, has produced and remixed songs for other bands including Pet Shop Boys, Blue, Bad Boys Inc, Kim Wilde, Bananarama, Sister Sledge, Bronski Beat and Erasure. Take That has achieved 28 top 40 singles and 17 top 5 singles in the UK Singles Chart since the band’s formation in Manchester in 1990, 12 of which have reached number one, including ‘Back for Good’ and ‘Greatest Day’. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), over a third of music consumers continue to acquire music through illegal means, which is estimated to cost the music industry $7bn a year in lost revenue. Despite the rise in legal streaming over recent years, sophisticated music piracy continues to plague the industry, and the IFPI reports that the global industry is yet to build back its revenues to the $23.4 billion it made in 2001, reaching $20.2 billion in 2019. The global pandemic appears to have only exacerbated the issue with the number of visitors to pirate sites growing in 2020, with more consumers looking for music content. In 2020 to date, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) has discovered over 10,000 new sites and applications variously used to pirate music. AIM-listed One Media is a digital music rights acquirer, publisher and distributor. The Group specialises in purchasing and monetising intellectual property rights with proven, repeat income streams. In a recent update, the Group announced its trading for the financial year to 31s October in line with market expectations. Revenues for the year are expected to be £4m and EBITDA of £1.4m, an increase of 14% and 30% respectively on the prior year. At 31st October, One Media had cash in the bank of £6.7m. One Media is delighted to report that in its interim results for the six-month period ended 30 April 2020, the Group increased its revenue by 28% to £2,032,598 while its operating profit grew 98% to £563,257. Debussy’s ‘Suite Bergamasque: Claire de Lune’ featured in the final episode of the season, which aired on 2 April 2019, marking the third track from the catalogue to have been placed in the hit series.

Locomotive Records is an independent record label based in Spain. The Locomotive catalogue comprises circa 1,500 progressive, global rock recordings from various Spanish bands, notably including tracks from the highly acclaimed Spanish folk metal band, Mägo de Oz, with whom the Company has entered into a direct artist royalty agreement. The content will be distributed by One Media’s distribution partner, the Orchard. As announced on 15th January One Media iP has signed a long-term deal for a selection of its’ music legend videos to be distributed on Stingray’s Qello platform. Qello is the world’s leading OTT streaming service for full-length concerts and music documentaries on-demand – reaching users in more than 160 countries. Our bestest friend Dave Cash died a week ago, aged 74. Dave was the voice behind all of One Media’s corporate videos. He spent hundreds of hours with us making the Dave Cash Collection, a selection of music (the largest choice ever by a British DJ) for digital distribution. Dave became a great mate to us and when he married Sara we knew he had found real happiness. Our heart felt sympathies go to Sara and Mr Beesley. Dave needs no introduction or farewell from us and in his immortal words “he will be back after this short break”, “Groovy Baby”. The 22-minute pilot is being edited at Pinewood Studio. Filming for the pilot has taken place over the summer at well-known British locations with an exciting climax filmed at Brand Hatch. The show is hosted by Boyzone’s Shane Lynch and Mercedes’s corporate and CNBS’s FI presenter Torie Campbell. The format of the new show is targeted at ‘late teens to thirty cools’. The new format, which will be a first for a motoring show, features music, in-car technology, car tests, a dating game, a destruction game, teen sport challenges, virtual car reality and high-octane fun.
