‘Another Lonely Christmas (In the Motorcity) is a lively soul track complete with the festive flair of Northern Soul. The song kicks off with a combination of jingling bells and a saxophone intro, complemented by a brisk on-the-beat snare drum.

As the lyrics reflect on spending yet another Christmas alone in the Motorcity, the upbeat tempo contrasts with the classic Northern Soul melancholy embedded in the verses. However, a twist in the penultimate verse introduces a moment of hope as the singer exclaims “Wait a minute, what’s this I see?” Santa Claus proves to be the unexpected (or not) hero by “bringing my baby back to me”!

ANGELO STARR is the younger brother of the late legendary Motown legend Edwin Starr who is most notably known for his 1970 No. 1 hit single ‘War’). He was a member of Edwin Starr’s touring band ‘The Team’ (formerly the Edwin Starr band) for several years up until and continually after Edwin’s passing to keep the legacy alive. Starr has released multiple singles and featured on a vast array of popular Northern Soul album compilations.

IAN LEVINE (producer & co-writer) is a legendary writer, producer, DJ who modernised Northern Soul and has written and produced records with sales of over 40 million. He was the producer on Take That hits ‘A Million Love Songs’, ‘Could It Be Magic’ and ‘I Found Heaven’, and the writer and producer on famous Hi-NRG tracks, most notably Evelyn Thomas’ 1984 chart dance hit ‘High Energy’ and Miquel Brown’s 1983 hit ‘So Many Men – So Little Time’.
